Clifton Park- Michael J. Bielawa, 67, of Farm to Market Road, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May, 4, 2023 at the Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Albany, Michael was the son of the late Eugene and Irene Taran Bielawa and the beloved husband of Amy Kupferman Cox.

Michael grew up in the Town of Nassau, was a graduate of the Averill Park High School Class of 1973 and had resided in Clifton Park since 2009. Mike had a 32-year career with the Rensselaer County Highway Dept. working out of the North Greenbush and Schodack facilities. He retired in 2009 and was a supervisor at the time of his retirement. Along with his wife, Mike was a major part of Bielman’s Cavaliers. Breeding, training and raising puppies as well as showing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Mike enjoyed his time hunting, riding motorcycles, beekeeping and his little canines, especially his girl Emme.

Mike was a member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Northeastern NY, a former member of the Brunswick HOGS Motorcycle Club, enjoyed belonging to area Gun Clubs where he competed and held competitive marksman records. Mike also enjoyed his time with his family including his sons and grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his sons Jason (Shaneh) Bielawa of Rensselaer, Cody (Christine) Bielawa of Nassau and Jerid (Carey) Bielawa of West Sand Lake, his step daughter Dr. Jessica Paige of Campbell, CA., brothers Anthony Bielawa of Conn., Stanley Bielawa of Nassau, sister Barbara Fargnoli of Fla., and his first wife Nancy Cole of Sand Lake and 6 grandchildren. Michael was the brother of the late Eugene, Edward and Joseph Bielawa.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-7pm on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park NY.

There will also be calling hours between 4-7pm, followed by a Shiva service at 7 PM, on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the home of Amy Cox in Clifton Park NY.
