Sand Lake – Michael J. Angrisano, 79, of Rte. 43 died on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side. Mike was born and raised in North Greenbush and was the son of the late Vito and Mary Margaret Ross Angrisano and the beloved husband of Judy Scott Angrisano. Mike was a 1957 graduate of the Averill Park Schools and shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Navy serving until 1959. He spent his time on the USS Leyte until it was decommissioned and he was discharged. Mike worked incredibly hard to take care of his family and held a variety of jobs over the years. He worked as a manager of Woolworth Department Store, as a bus driver for the Averill Park School District, and as a driver for the Crowley Milk Company. He owned several local businesses including the Willowbrook Restaurant, Twins Soft Serve, Mike’s Sporting Goods, and Doby’s Submarine, which was later passed on to his late brother and is still in business today. In 1981, he started in the insurance business as an agent with Prudential Insurance in Troy until his retirement in 1997. He also helped to start the family business LA Insurance. Mike was always a lover of sports. He was a co-founder of the original Uncle Sam Boxing Club and he coached Classie Lassies. He was the #1 fan of his grandchildren and traveled all over the state, and even the country, to watch them compete in their sporting events. Mike was predeceased by his son Michael J. Angrisano, his sisters Mary Blackburn and Jane Page, and his brothers James, Louis and Victor Angrisano. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his children Louis J. Angrisano of Sand Lake, Susan P. (Arthur) Stevens of Sand Lake, Lori C. (Paul) Vogel of Averill Park, and Matthew J. “Pudge” (Jennifer) Angrisano of Averill Park, his brothers John Angrisano of Brunswick and Joseph (Joan) Angrisano of Wynantskill, his sisters Catherine Horton of North Greenbush and Gloria Lester of Poestenkill, and his 10 grandchildren.
