​Troy- Michael W. “Hammer” Taylor 62, of Sheridan Ave. died on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Born in Albany Michael was the son of the late James and Marie Brandenburg Taylor. Michael was raised in Brunswick and resided there until entering the Navy for 3 years where he served on the SSS Corry. Mike had resided in Troy for over 40 years and had been a glazier for area glass shops before working for Autopart International in Troy where he been a deliveryman for several years. Michael enjoyed the ocean and his yearly vacations to Hampton Beach, deep-sea fishing, and hunting, NASCAR and the times spent with his family and friends.
Michael was the brother of the late John Taylor.
Survivors include his “main squeeze” Ruth O’Brien, his sons Michael (Shatana) and Albert (Charleen) Taylor all of Troy, his siblings James Taylor of Brunswick, Marie Persons of Clifton Park, Deborah (Tom) Harrington of Raymertown, Susan (Jay) Bargovic of Ballston Spa, Mary Lou (Howard) Arnold of Averill Park, Robert (Lisa) Taylor of Grafton, Kevin Taylor of Eagle Mills and Elizabeth Taylor of East Greenbush
Along with 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and the O’Brien family of Poestenkill.
Funeral Service Wednesday, May 17, 10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by burial at the Eagle Mills Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 16.
