Milton Long III

Averill Park- Ira Milton Long III, 69, of Glass Lake Road died Wednesday, October 28, 2015, after an extended illness. Milton was the son of the late Ira Milton Long Jr. and Ruth Dixon Long, and husband of Judith Teal Long. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1964 graduate of Averill Park High School. Milton was a 1972 graduate of RIT and was then hired by the university as an instructor after graduation. He later worked as an Optics Engineer for Teledyne-Gurley in Troy, eventually becoming an independent consultant until his retirement in 2001. Milton was a member of the local band The Majestics along with his best friend, Grant Perry.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Devon (Thom) Lytle of Natick, MA, Megan (Jeff) Konokowski of Dedham, MA and Eric Long of NYC, his sister Melinda (Fred) Whittum of NYC and 2 grandchildren.Services were private for the family.Visit perrykomdat.com for private guestbook.
