Castleton-Nancy F. McClintock, 85, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2017 after a long illness. Born in Meridan, CT to Roland and Cora Finley, Nancy resided in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. She was the loving wife of the late Donald R. McClintock. Nancy held a Master's degree in Education and had been an elementary / special education teacher at several schools in Pennsylvaniaand Massachusetts. She retired from the Cotting School (Waltham, MA) in 1995, moved from Marlboro, MA to Winchendon, MA in 1999 and then moved to Averill Park, NY in 2005. The last several years, she resided at the Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Castleton where she received loving care. Nancy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a very young child. Throughout her life, she sought to share the good news that salvation and eternal life can be found by all who acknowledge their sin, turn to Christ for forgiveness, and accept him as Lord over every aspect of life. When she lost her husband after only 13 years of marriage, she learned to rely on God for the strength and wisdom to raise her four daughters alone. Nancy left behind many inspirational and encouraging letters to her children. In one letter, she wrote "I know God was right in taking Don because of the spiritual impact it has had on my life. God knew this was the best way to bring me into a really close, vital walk with Him. With no one else to depend on, God has become my very life and breath."
She was a devoted mother to her children and dedicated her life to raising them to love and serve God. She was a playful and kind soul, with a ready, sweet smile for those around her. Survivors include her daughters Marie (Paul) Stewart of Redding, CA, Linda (Ronald) Nasman of Averill Park, NY, Marjorie “Peggy” McClintock of Hackettstown, NJ, and Amy (Ewan) Milne of Stow, MA and her brother, William (Judy) Finley of Bennett Lake, Ontario, Canada.
