Sand Lake-Nora Jean Rose, 67, of Sand Lake, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s on Thursday, September 16, 2021. She is survived by her five siblings and their spouses, her 16 nieces and nephews, and her 18 grandnieces and grandnephews. Nora was born to Joseph George Rose, Jr. and Agnes “Dooley” Theresa Rose in Chicago, Illinois, on September 26, 1953. She grew up in White Plains, New York, before moving to Falls Church, Virginia, where she spent over 30 years working in the radiology department at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She retired in 2012 and moved to New York to live with her brother Kevin Rose, his wife Debbie, and their son Collin. Although she was an avid Notre Dame football fan, the most important things to Nora were her family and her Catholic faith. Known for being the family’s resident food critic, she loved food and had a unique ability to pick the best dish at a restaurant. Her loved ones will remember Nora for keeping the extended family connected and will deeply miss her thoughtfulness, tenacity, courage, and strength. The family is celebrating Nora’s life privately at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Averill Park, New York, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Community Hospice Foundation 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 (https://donate.givetocommunityhospice.org/).
