Norma e knauer

Brunswick-Norma E. Knauer, 79, of Dater Hill Road died on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness. A lifelong resident of Brunswick, Norma was the daughter of the late Homer L. and Cora H. Brod Bott and wife of the late Henry E. Knauer. Norma was a homemaker and had also worked at Gardenway Mfg., Gaier & Bluhm and Styx Restaurant. Norma was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poestenkill and a member of the Brunswick Historical Society. Norma enjoyed farming, gardening, motorcycling, spending time helping the Amish in the Fonda area and the time spent with her family. Norma was the mother of the late James E. Knauer, sister of the late Helen Heffner and the longtime companion of the late Fred Voellm. Survivors include her children, Ronald Knauer of Troy, Joyce (Ronald) Zakrzewski of Cohoes, Lynne (Bruce) Moody of Brunswick, Penny Silliman of Troy, Holly (Thomas) Cole of Schaghticoke, Pamela (Bill Dean) Knauer of Brunswick and Sandra Knauer of Brunswick; her sister, June Heffner of Poestenkill; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Funeral, Thursday, January 9, 2014, 7 p.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the chapel on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment, Friday, 11 a.m. at the Eagle Mills Cemetery. If desired, donations in memory of Norma E.
