Averill Park- Paul “Parrot” Gile, Sr., 88, of Sheer Road passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, October 13, 2024 after a long illness. 

Born and raised in the “Alps”, Town of Nassau, Paul was the son of the late Obed F. and Amanda Pratt Gile and the devoted husband of Mildred Arnold Gile. Paul served his country in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957. He was a laborer for 24 years with C.P. Mangona & Sons in Saratoga and had retired in 1995. He went to work at the Wal-Mart in East Greenbush in the maintenance dept. and was there from 2003-2010. 

Paul was a member of the Sgt. Walter A. Adams American Legion Post 1021 in Averill Park, the Brunswick Elks, a member of the former Alps Baptist Church and the West Stephentown Baptist Church.

Paul was the grandfather of the late Alyson Gile and brother of the late Ada Vincent, Fred, Ernest, Henry and Richard Gile.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Kenneth P. (Teri) Gile, Patricia (Terry) Fleming both of Averill Park and Robert (Jeanne) Gile of East Nassau, his sister Betty Lasch of Averill Park, his grandchildren Stephen (Casie) and Brittany (Don Page) Fleming along with 6 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul’s life 12-4 pm on Friday October 18, 2024 at the Brunswick Elks Lodge 665 Brunswick Road, Troy, NY.

Paul’s family suggest donations in his memory may be made to the Community Hospice Gift Processing Center 310 So. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208
