West Sand Lake- Phyllis E. “Polly” Kimmey, 95, of Rte. 43 died on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Troy, Phyllis was the last surviving child of the late Arnold and Beatrice Cummings Gardner and she was wife of the late Willis “Bud” Kimmey. Phyllis grew up in the “Alps” and later resided in Hoags Corners before moving to West Sand Lake in 1969.Phyllis had a 35-year career with the NYS Comptrollers Office retiring in 1991 as an Accounts Clerk. She was Secretary to the Local 651 CSEA and was CSEA Political Action Chairman. Phyllis was a longtime member of the Sand Lake and Schodack Seniors, volunteered at the Schodack Senior Center and was named Schodack Senior of the year 2005. Phyllis was a longtime member of the Rebekah Interlochen Lodge #92 having held offices in the organization and served on the NYS Rebekah Assembly where she was Chaplain. Phyllis was a member of D.A.R. sang in the choir of the Over the Hill Gang in Schodack, was a longtime member of the Sand Lake Baptist Church and a former choir member. Phyllis enjoyed teaching and doing belly dancing. Phyllis was the mother of the late Sharon (Late Leon) Cylkoff, sister of the late Harold E. Gardner, Doris Shaver, Mildred Trombley, Lois Fitzgerald and Evelyn Hall. Survivors include her devoted grandchildren Tonya Kim (Jerry Simon) and Todd J. (Tonya) Cylkoff and her great grandchildren Krystal L. Simon, Marissa M. (Gary) Goyer, Brier M. and Tucker J. Cylkoff, her great great grandchildren Olivia and Madelyn Goyer along with several nieces and nephews. Phyllis’s family wishes to thank Cindy, George, Bev and Bev for the care and friendship given to Phyllis during her life journey the past few years. Relatives and friends are invited to call 9-11 am on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park followed by a funeral service at 11 am.
