East Nassau- Rita M. Law, 80, of Rte. 66 died suddenly on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Florida Hospital-Deland after being stricken at her daughter’s home. Born in Plattsburgh NY, Rita was the daughter of the late Fred Paul Ebere and Maleana Brooks Ebere Kennedy and wife of the late Edward V. Law. Rita had resided in Troy before moving to the Hoags Corners area 37 years ago. A number of years ago Rita had been a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal before becoming a full time homemaker. Rita was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park and she enjoyed the time she spent with her devoted family. Rita was the step- daughter of the late Jeremiah Kennedy, mother of the late Edward P. Law, sister of the late Raymond and Donald Ebere and the longtime loving companion of the late George Gaudet. Survivors include her children Paul and Warren Law both of Troy, Brian Law of East Nassau, Star Welcome of Averill Park, Brenda Vance of Deland, FL., Bobbie Jo Wendell of Hudson Falls, NY and Marreta Warner of Averill Park, her sister Marie “Hazel” Wagner of Averill Park and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Monday 10 a.m. at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the CHURCH on Sunday 3-6 p.m. If desired the family suggests donations in memory of Rita M.Law may be made to the Hoags Corners Ambulance PO Box 90 East Nassau, NY 12062.
