Watervliet-Robert E. Berry Jr., 71, of Broadway, died on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the Community Hospice at the Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Born in Valatie, NY, Robert was the son of the late Robert E. and Margaret Snyder Berry Sr. Robert grew up in East Nassau and attended the Averill Park Schools. In his later years he had lived in the Troy area and since 2009 in Watervliet. Robert had retired in 1997 from the Troy City School District where he had been on the custodial staff. Following his retirement he worked for Miller’s Market in West Sand Lake where he was a cashier. Robert was the longtime companion of the late John Wisner. Survivors include his sister Betty Warren, his brother Ronald Berry both of West Sand Lake, his caregiver and niece Debbie Tilton along with several other nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday 7 p.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and Friends are invited and may call at the funeral chapel on Tuesday 5-7pm prior to the service. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, West Sand Lake. If desired donations in memory of Robert E.
