Valatie-Robert James "Bob" Harrison, 65, formerly of Averill Park, passed away peacefully at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn Schneider Harrison. Bob was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and had resided in the area since the late 1960s. Bob traveled around the country chasing trains and entertaining passengers as a tour bus operator for Yankee Trails for more than 20 years. After the birth of his daughter, he worked for Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) in Albany, from which he retired in 2001. Bob was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park and was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree knight. Besides chasing trains, his hobbies included vintage buses, photography, and NASCAR racing. Bob is survived by his children, Jennilee and William Harrison of Roselle, N.J., as well as family in Staten Island, his sister, Arlene Watkins; her daughter, Daria (Nick) Zarski, and her children, Nia and Nicholas Zarski. Bob was devotedly cared for by his former wife and dear friend Donna Gowie Harrison of East Greenbush. Bob's family would like to thank the staff at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their support and care provided for the past three years. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. If desired, donations in memory of Robert J.
