Averill Park- Robert T. “Botsy” Rosenberger Sr., 83, of Clearview Road passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Watervliet, Botsy was the son of the late William and Isabel Bailey Rosenberger and the beloved husband of Christine “Tina” Roman Rosenberger.
Botsy grew up in North Greenbush, attended the Little Red Schoolhouse and was a 1960 graduate of LaSalle Institute. He learned his lifelong trade of barbering at the Royal Barber School in Schenectady. Botsy spent his career giving great haircuts and telling good and bad jokes, and lending an ear to his many customers. He moved to Averill Park in 1975 where he continued his trade until his sudden passing. He enjoyed Golfing, playing on the Troy Elks Golf League, was great on the dance floor and was a member of the Sand Lake Kiwanis.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son Robert T. (Nicole) Rosenberger Jr. of Rensselaer, his daughter Sara Theresa Rosenberger of Sand Lake and his brother William (Lillian) Rosenberger of Brunswick.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-6:30 on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park followed by a service at 6:30 with longtime friend Rev. Gary Gelfenbien officiating.
Botsy’s family wishes to thank his many customers for their years of support and patronage. Everytime he was giving a customer a haircut, he was also doing what he loved most, which was connecting with friends and making them laugh. Please know that he cared for you all as much as you cared for him.
If desired the family suggest donations in memory of Robert T. Rosenberger Sr. may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) in care of the Funeral Chapel.
