Robert L. Rubin

Cherry Plain- Robert L. Rubin, 92, of Mattison Hollow Road passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 14 2026 after a long period of declining health. Born in New York City, Robert was the son of the late Hy and Dorothy Bernstein Rubin and the beloved husband of Helane Coopersmith Rubin. Robert was a graduate of New Rochelle High School. He had worked for IBM and Champion Paper and was the force behind RL Rubin Inc in Manhattan, a graphic and business show design company. For a short time during the 1960’s Robert was a concert promoter which included the 1966 Folk Festival in New York City. Robert and Helane moved to Cherry Plain in 1981 and had previously lived in New Jersey. Robert was a piano player and helped Helane in running the Mattison Hollow Bed and Breakfast for a number of years.

Survivors in addition to his wife includes his children David (Bonnie), Lee (Laura) and Melissa (Ari) Anolic, his grandchildren Mikayla, Zachary, Ariel, Laurin, Sydney and Dylan Rubin and a great granddaughter Natalie James Thundy.

Services will be private for the family.
