Averill Park- Robert Thomas Bondi, 68, of Garner Road died suddenly at his home on July 21, 2022. Born in Troy, Bob was the beloved husband of Linda Charland Bondi. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul B. and Mary Ann Maiello Bondi, and was also predeceased by an infant brother. He grew up in Latham and was a 1972 graduate of Shaker High School. Bob worked for various general contractors before starting his own two businesses; RTB Construction in the early 1990’s and Bondi Construction Services in 2010. Bob and his family lived in the Cohoes hill area for many years before moving to Averill Park in 1994. The Bondi family joined the Zion’s United Church of Christ in Taborton where Bob was an active member, serving on the board in various positions, most recently as the Assistant Moderator. He was a dedicated volunteer during construction projects, church dinners, the summer festival, the Memorial Cross project and anywhere else he could be of service. Bob enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and even built his own sportster. He and Linda loved traveling the country together, favoring national parks, historic landmarks and especially the Outer Banks. Most important to Bob was his family. For many years, he was a coach for youth baseball and soccer. He looked forward to annual family reunions, spending time with his wife and sons as well as being a devoted Papa to his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Linda, Bob is survived by his sons Dominic R. (Alicia) Bondi of Latham, Daniel J. (Katie) Bondi of East Greenbush and Samuel D. Bondi of Boston, his grandchildren Stella, Luca and Milo Bondi, and his brothers Paul Bondi of Troy, Anthony (Debbe) Bondi of Ballston Spa and James (Gwen) Bondi of Albany and several nieces and nephews.
