Ronald V. Mickel Sr.

Averill Park- Ronald V. Mickel Sr., 80, of Burden Lake Road, died on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Collar City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a time of declining health. Born and raised in Albany, Ron was the son of the late Austin and Minnie Van Buren Mickle and husband of the late Vanita A. Courtock Mickel. Ron attended Albany schools and moved to Dunham Hollow Road, Hoag’s Corners in 1986 residing there until moving to Averill Park in 2015. Ronald was retired from Albany Medical Center where he had been a shuttle bus driver for a number of years. Ron enjoyed gardening and was a wrestling fan.

Survivors include his sons Ronald V. (Michele) Mickel Jr. and Michael D. Mickel both of Averill Park.

Ronald was the last surviving child of 10 siblings.

Services will be private.
