Poestenkill- Rosalie H. Mackey, 75, of Plank Road a longtime resident of Cohoes, died on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at St. Peters Hospital after a time of declining health. Born in the Village of Cooperstown, Rosalie was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Marion M. Montayne Gomiller Sr. and wife of the late Gary W. Mackey. Rosalie grew up and was educated in Milford, NY coming to the Albany area for her college education. She met Gary and were married and settled in Albany. They would move to Cohoes where they raised their family. Rosalie had a long career with the Postal Service working at the Karner Road facility. She retired in the early 2000’s. Rosalie moved to Poestenkill after Gary’s death in 2015. Rosalie enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, where she competed and won competitions, and crocheting blankets for her family and friends. In years past Gary and Rosalie would camp at Beckett, MA. They did this for several years. Rosalie also enjoyed her time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons Jeffrey (Vicki) Mackey of Poestenkill and Patrick (Annette) Mackey of Kansas City, MO, her brothers Frank Gomiller Jr. of Milford, NY and Michael Gomiller of Oneonta, her grandchildren Derek, Jessica, Garret, Brianna and Sara and her greatgrandchildren Kennedy, Jay, and Charlotte along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited and may call 4-6:30 pm on Friday, November 11 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park, NY with a service at 6:30 p.m.
Rosalie will be laid to rest with Gary at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
