Averill Park- Ruth C. Udwary, 92, of Rte. 43, Glass Lake, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral Fl. Ruth was born in Lansingburgh and was the daughter of the late Joseph Cooper and Emma Marchand Cooper Wappler and the beloved wife of the late John Udwary. After her marriage Ruth and John lived on Uphams Corners Road in Hoags Corners before building their home on Glass Lake. Ruth had worked at Behr Manning as a secretary before working for the Averill Park School District, first as the Secretary to the Principal at the Miller Hill School and then at the District Offices where she was the District Account Clerk. She had worked for the school district for over 25 years before her retirement.
Ruth was an avid and talented painter and along with Sanford Young painted the town’s bicentennial painting which hangs in the Town Hall. Ruth was a member of the Church of the Covenant United Methodist in Averill Park; the Glass Lake Association was a former member of the Sand Lake Republican Club and had been active in the area Secretary’s Association.
Ruth was the mother of the late John C. Udwary, and half-sister to the late Lillian Marchand.
Survivors include her devoted daughter Jeannette Udwary and her favorite son in law Michael Bromirski of Cape Coral, Fl. and her nieces, nephews and thoughtful caring neighbors.
Funeral 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park with interment at the Sand Lake Union Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel on Friday, November 24.
