Poestenkill- Sandra Davis Stiles, “The Queen”, 70, of Main Street died on Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Peters Hospice Inn in Albany after a short illness. Born in Troy, Sandy was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Audrey Keyzer Davis and wife of Thomas E. Stiles. Sandy was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of the Averill Park High School. After High School Sandy worked for the Marine Midland Bank and then was a stay at home mom raising her family. Sandy was active in her kid’s activities during their time in school. Sandy returned to work at the NYS Dept. of Motor Vehicles as a Supervisor retiring in 2008. Sandy was Vice President of the local PEF, was an honorary life member and volunteer with the Sullivan Jones VFW Post, enjoyed the family camp in Newcomb, NY, Cape Cod with her sister, enjoyed cooking, gardening, a good book and spending time with family and friends.
Sandy was the sister of the late Kenneth B. “Pete” Davis Jr.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children Rebeckah Ann Desposito, Wendy Munandi and Randy Thomas Stiles all of Poestenkill, her brothers Frederick T. Davis of West Sand Lake, Ralph W. “Mike” Davis of East Greenbush, her sister Audrey Davis of Round Lake and several grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park 2-4 p.m. Friday, March 24, followed by a celebration of Sandy’s life at the Sullivan Jones VFW Post Veterans Street in Poestenkill to which friends are also invited.
The family suggests donations in memory of Sandra D. Stiles may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute PO Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
