Shirley A. Wilsey

West Sand Lake, NY - Shirley A. Wilsey, 73, of West Sand Lake died on Sunday, October 2, 2016 after a short illness at the Community Hospice at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Margaretville, NY on May 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Elsie Ellis. After graduating from high school Shirley moved to the Capital District area where she settled in West Sand Lake. Shirley was a longtime employee of Verizon. Shirley started as a switchboard operator while in high school and after completing Albany Business College continued on as a Construction Coordinator Secretary and District Secretary. Shirley had a passion for auto racing that started with her father and continued on through adulthood. Shirley’s proudest moments were with her daughter Elizabeth as they formed a lifelong bond that only a mother and child could have. Shirley is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Arthur) La Fleur of Clifton Park, NY and her longtime friend and traveling companion Clark Boyer of Averill Park, NY.
Funeral Arrangements will be private for the family.
