Averill Park- Stanley Supkis Jr., a long time Averill Park resident, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Ludder’s Adult Home in West Sand Lake where he received warm loving care. Retired from Norton International, Stanley was a research scientist in the field of organic chemistry and was awarded many patents and honored for his achievements. He earned his degrees at Hofstra, Fordham Universities and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. During World War II he served in the US Navy Air Sea Rescue group, Pacific Area, as a medical corpsman. He was active in community affairs and a happy vegetable gardener. He enjoyed athletics and was a great sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary, his sons Christopher and Michael, nephew Edward and their families, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
