Sylvia J. Goodermote

Cherry Plain- Sylvia J. Goodermote, 90, a long-time resident of Derby Lane passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026 at the Hoosick Falls Health Center after a long illness. Born in Rutland VT., Sylvia was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Elsie Hutchen Lincoln and wife of the late Elmer A. Goodermote. Sylvia was a resident of the area for over 70 years. She had been a Nurses Aide at the former St. Lukes Hospital, now Berkshire Medical Center, along with Hillcrest Hospital all in Pittsfield, MA. For a time, Sylvia worked in the Dietary Dept. of BMC. She worked for the Berlin School District for 21 years in the cafeteria and as a bus monitor. For a number of years Sylvia was a waitress at the former Bridgeway in Cherry Plain. She enjoyed gambling, horseracing and bingo.

Sylvia was the sister of the late Barbara Gardner, Carol Goodermote, Betty Brown and Cecily Beck.

Survivors include her son Scott (Alisa) Goodermote of Stephentown her grandchildren Trevor Goodermote and Kendall (Don) Casey, her great grandchildren Logan, Madison, Jackson and Reagan and her great great grandchildren Moses and Shiloh along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 1-2 pm on Sunday July 12, 2026 at the Cherry Plain Community Church, Old Rte. 22, Cherry Plain Square followed by a service at 2 pm.
