Wynantskill- Terry L. VanWormer, 61, of Mallard Way, Snyder’s Lake, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at St. Peters Hospital. Born in Albany, Terry was the son of Virginia Cowan VanWormer formerly of West Sand Lake and the late John VanWormer and husband of Nancy Hull VanWormer. Terry was raised in West Sand Lake and was a 1974 graduate of the Averill Park High School. Terry had retired in 2010 from Grassland Equipment in Latham where he had been warehouse manager for a number of years. He had previously worked at Kampar Chemical in Menands. Terry was a former member of the West Sand Lake Fire Dept. and had played on the Softball team. He enjoyed Golfing and had played in area Leagues. He enjoyed Bowling, playing poker rummy and he was a John Wayne fan.
In addition to his father, Terry was predeceased by a sister Cheryl Miadzielec and his in laws Gordon and Irene Hull.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include his daughter Brandi (Larry) Piparo, his son Cole VanWormer both of Las Vegas, NV and proud papa to Hailey and Amber Piparo, his sister Karen (Ronald) Blair of Latham. Over the years Terry had his canine companions including Ziva, Lizzy and Tator.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 25 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a service at 4 p.m.
Terry will be interred in the spring at the Elmwood Cemetery, West Sand Lake.
