Tiffany H. Allen

Sand Lake-Tiffany H. Allen, 82, a longtime resident of Sand Lake died on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

Born on October 15, 1943 in Moline, IL., she was the daughter of Donald Hall and Nellie June Hall. Tiffany was the oldest of five children among brothers LeRoy and Jamie and sisters Amber and Ardith.

The family moved to San Francisco. During that time, she met her future husband, James P. Allen, Jr., when he was stationed at the Presidio. They would marry in 1961. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, Jim and Tiffany would move to Troy, N.Y. In 1963. Their son, James D. Allen, was born that year.Tiffany later joined the work force, where spent more than four decades working for the State of New York in various capacities. Upon her retirement, she held the position of Director of Library Development.

She was extremely passionate about many things in her life, especially family, friends, and her work.

Jim and Tiffany were married three weeks shy of 60 years when he died in 2021. Her son has been a sportswriter/broadcaster in the area since 1989. He has worked at the Times Union since 2006, covering high school sports.The family would like to thank Peregrine Senior Living of Colonie for their care of Tiffany.

Survivors in addition to her son include her daughter-in-law Elise; grandson Cameron Canty; her sister Ardith; along with nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call 4-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park followed by a service at 6:30.

The family asks donations be made to Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern, N.Y. 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, N.Y. 12205 in memory of Tiffany Allen.
