Averill Park- Vanita A. Mickel, 73, of Burden Lake Road a longtime resident of Dunham Hollow Road Hoags Corners, died suddenly on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Sharon, CT., Vanita was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laurel Russell Courtock and the beloved wife of 47 years to Ronald V. Mickel Sr. Vanita had spent most of her life in the Hoags Corners area and was a homemaker. She had attended the West Stephentown Baptist Church and was a gifted artist having drawn many pictures.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her sons Ronald V. (Michele) Mickel Jr. of Averill Park and Michael D. Mickel of East Nassau, her sister Joann (David) Fleming of Brunswick and her brother Joseph (Sheri) Courtock of Jessup, MD.
Services will be private.
