Clifton Park- Verna E. von den Driesch, 91, of Sparrow Hawk Circle a longtime resident of Poestenkill, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Niskayuna, Verna was the daughter of the late Willis and Beulah Bisgrove Grinter and the wife of the late Harry von den Driesch. Verna had resided in Poestenkill from the late 1950’s until 2016 when she moved to Diamond Ridge and then to Clifton Park in 2018. Verna was a homemaker and while living in Poestenkill was a member of the Home Bureau and the Poestenkill Seniors. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, was involved in the PTA when her children were in school and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Verna was the mother of the late Kevin Vonn and Dean von den Driesch and sister of the late Willis Grinter Jr.
Verna is survived by her children Brian (Chery) Vonn of Atlantic Beach, FL; Amy (Edward) Dunbar of Raleigh, NC: Guy (Elizabeth) von den Driesch of Kinderhook and Jill (Lance) Johnson of Mechanicville along with 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Services will be private.
