Cropseyville- Vincent Friel, 52, of Claus Road passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 31,2015. Born in the Bronx, Vinny was the son of the late Bob Friel and Rose Mazza Watt and the beloved husband for 33 years to Donna Sacco Friel. Vincent grew up in the Bronx and was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappinger Falls and SUNY Delhi. Vinny’s working career started with Texaco Research in Glenham, NY and then with Wheelabrator Technology. Vincent then went to Peter Paul Mars Co. and Yo Farm and then for over the past ten years to Dean Foods the parent company of Garelick Farms. At the time of his death Vincent was the Maintenance Manager for Garelick Farms in East Greenbush. Vinny had resided in Naugatuck, CT. before moving to the Capitol District in 2009. Vincent was a member of the NRA, the High Rock Shooting Range in Connecticut where he was an instructor and coach to the youth program and a Range Officer. He was a long standing member of the Watertown Skating Club in Watertown, CT, the Hendrick Hudson Fish & Game Club in Averill Park and a die hard Mets and Jets Fan. Vinny also enjoyed traveling with Donna. Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughters April Friel(Edward) Harris of New York Mills, Toni (Heather Evon) Friel of Watertown, CT, and Tanya Sacco (Brian) Fazekasof Largo, Fl. His brothers and sisters Robert (Karen) Friel of Wappinger Falls, John Watt of Nashua, NH, Mark Watt and Theresa (Adrian Howard) Abston both of Wappinger Falls and James Watt Jr. of The Bronx. Vinny was also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, goddaughters and Bryce.
Funeral Wednesday 11 a.m. January 6, 2016 at St Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park, NY on Tuesday January 5, 2016 4-7p.m.
