Sun City Center, Fl.- William F. Goewey, Jr., 93, of Sun City Center, FL. and West Sand Lake, N.Y., entered into eternal life on March 21, 2017. Born in Albany, Bill was the son of the late William Frost and Christina Ernst Goewey and husband of Reba Brinton and the late Doris Jordan Goewey. Bill was raised in North Nassau and graduated from the Averill Park High School at the age of 16 with the Class of 1939. Bill was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill. Bill and Doris owned and operated Dor-Will Farms in West Sand Lake for many years raising and showing Brown Swiss Cows. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. In his younger years Bill and his father did custom saw milling and traveled the area to local farms harvesting wheat, oats, hay and corn silage. He retired from the Rensselaer Post Office as a rural route carrier. After retirement, Bill and Doris wintered in Florida.
Bill enjoyed going to farm and tractor shows. He proudly drove his restored antique Hart Parr tractor in the parade at Canandaigua, NY, steam show.
Bill and Reba enjoyed traveling and visiting friends and family.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, William D. (Judy Millholland) Goewey, Suzanne (David) Filieau, Ruth Espinosa (Joseph) Barone, Grace (Donald) Bradley and Gisele (Robert) Pulver. Grandfather of Mark Goewey, Joseph (Becky) Goewey, Karen Salisbury, Kathryn Salisbury (Matthew Rafalik), Carolyn (Joseph) Mulheren, Matthew and Zachary Pulver. Predeceased by Tara and Eric Espinosa. Great grandfather of Robert and Kayla Goewey, Jude and Noah Mulheren and Raymond Rafilik. Bill is survived by his sisters Marion (Warren) Wells and Alice (Late Henry) Goebel along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
