William J. Saul Jr.

East Nassau- William J. Saul Jr., 79, of East Nassau, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024 at the Stratton VA Hospital in Albany following a short illness.

Born in Albany, December 28, 1944, William was the son of the late William Saul Sr. and Ruth Lanigan Saul and the beloved husband for over 22 years to Janet Schiller Saul. William and Janet were married on May 19, 2001.

William was a graduate of Columbia High School and attended trade school learning the craft of Plumbing and Pipe and Steam fitting. For many years he was employed as a Pipe and Steamfitter and working for the UA Local 7 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Latham, retiring in 1999.

William was a veteran of the United States Navy enlisting in May 1970 and was honorably discharged in April 1974.

In his quiet time he enjoyed the hobbies of listening to music on his old vinyl records and enjoying a beer with his friends. He was a coin collector and sports card enthusiast and in his younger days he enjoyed shooting darts. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Jenee Saul, Agnes Veletto, and Jamie Veletto, four grandchildren James Williams, Naylon Poole, Jenna O’Connors, and Justin Saul, two great grandchildren Yaidon and Nayliz Poole, a sister Marsha Williams and his nephew Robbie Williams. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his infant daughter Demita Saul. 

Relatives and friends are invited to call 2:00pm-5:30pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake, Averill Park followed by a service at 5:30pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
