Poestenkill- William W. Wendell Sr., 54, of Plank Road, passed suddenly on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his residence. Born in Troy, Bill was the son of the late Chester I. Wendell Jr. and Dorothy Frazzo Wendell and husband of Jacqueline DiNovo Wendell. Bill was a lifelong resident of Poestenkill and attended the Averill Park Schools. Bill had been a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for most of his working career and at the time of his death had been working for R.J. Valente Companies. Bill had owned and operated Wendell Transport from 1999-2009. He was very adventurous and loved motorcycles, traveling, the outdoors, his family and most of all his grandchildren William III and Makinley Ariana and his four legged companion Bear.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son William W. Wendell Jr. (Kira Daley) of Poestenkill, his brother Chester Wendell III (Debbie Tilton) of Poestenkill, his sister Deborah L. Briggs (Bob Dumas) of Brunswick.
Bill was a great man who would leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross his path. He has definitely left a legacy that will never be forgotten.
