East Poestenkill- Rev. Daniel L. Waugh Sr. of Legenbauer Road, completed his life of faithful service and went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Born on March 12,1951 in Garden City, MI. Rev. Waugh was son of the late Donald and Claudine Jenkins Waugh and the husband of Valarie Hulick Waugh. Dan graduated from Wayne High School and Baptist Bible College where he met Valerie and were married on May 25, 1973. He later earned a Master’s degree from Luther Rice Seminary. Rev. Waugh had been serving Jesus ministering around the country and the Fiji Islands for 45 years. At the time of his death he was serving as a missionary with Village Missions as Pastor of the 1st Baptist Church of East Poestenkill, a position he had held since 2012
Survivors in addition to his devoted wife include 2 sons Rev. Daniel L. (Lynn) Waugh Jr. of Bloomington, IN, and Joshua (Jennifer) Waugh of Tampa, FL., his daughter Rebekah (Jonathon) Matson of East Poestenkill, brothers Donald and Dennis Waugh of MI, and sister Denise Navarre of TX. He leaves a heritage of faith to his grandchildren Caleb, Jacob, Luke, Haleigh, Logan and Little Jon.
Funeral Service 10 a.m. Monday, July 30 at the First Baptist Church of East Poestenkill Legenbauer Road, Poestenkill followed with burial at Brookside Cemetery, Barbersville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park.
