Poestenkill-Eileen P. Fahrenkopf, 80, of Snake Hill Road, died on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at her residence after a three-month illness. Born in Albany, Eileen was the daughter of the late Francis and Pearl Hampton McDermott and the wife of 60 years to Edward G. Fahrenkopf Sr.  Eileen grew up in East Greenbush and was a graduate of St. Johns School in Rensselaer. She had resided in Poestenkill since 1971. Eileen’s life was about her family. She loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed traveling with Ed to New Orleans, the Thousand Islands, Viking River Cruise and camping with her family at Racquette Lake.  Eileen enjoyed her visits to the Casinos and playing Bingo, shopping, she was an avid Celtics and Buffalo Bills Fan and enjoyed eating grouse and trout. Eileen was a communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children Edward (Elizabeth) Fahrenkopf Jr. of Poestenkill, Michele (Howard) Miller of Southbury, CT., Kevin (Lori) Fahrenkopf of Poestenkill, Lynne (Terry) Pominville of Croghan, NY, TJ Fahrenkopf of Saylorsburg and Kristie (Scott) Parr of Westford, MA. Her brothers Steve McDermott of Colonie and Frances McDermott of Niskayuna, her grandchildren Matthew, Nolan, Zachary, Chris, Tim, Jessica, Sarah, Kevin, Logan, Ryan, Kate, Rachel, Cody, Dylan, Christopher, Anika, Erin, Tyler, Clay and Derek. Eileen was the sister of the late Patricia Wilkie and Beverly Lake.
Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at St. Henry’s Church 39 Old Rte. 66 Averill Park where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered with burial to follow in St. Henry’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also call 4-7 p.m. at St. Henry’s Church on Tuesday, May 22.
