Rensselaer-Alice I. Lawton, 73, of Second Street died on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Rosewood Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation after an extended illness. Born in Chatham, Alice was the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet Hatch Lawton. Alice had resided in the Capital District area including Canaan, East Nassau, Chatham and Delmar. She was a graduate of New Lebanon High School. Alice spent her life caring for others starting with her siblings when their mother died at a young age. Alice was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed card games with family and friends.
Alice was the mother of Christopher T. Lawton who died suddenly in 2014.
Survivors include her grandchildren Patrick McLaughlin, Lexi McLaughlin and Tyler Darcy, her brothers George Lawton of Delanson and Kevin (Maria) Lawton of Colonie, along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on 10-12 noon, Saturday, September 4 at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park followed by a burial in the Flatbrook Cemetery, Canaan, NY.
